Vision To see healthy Christian families bring glory to the Kingdom of God. Mission To equip the local church with excellent resources that will help them:
1. Develop Strong Families
2. Disciple Children & Teenagers
3. Train Youth Leaders
Our Team Doug & Marina Landro: Doug serves as President and financial director. He is from Scottsdale, Arizona and has been in Ukraine since September 1997 after 16 years of youth ministry experience. Doug and his wife, Marina, attend Church of the Living God in Uzhgorod where they serve on the youth leadership team. Ghenna & Ira Vakulenko: Ghenna is the editorial and marketing director of Teenager Publishing. He was the youth pastor of New Life Church, the largest evangelical church in Ukraine. He then worked shortly for Youth for Christ before becoming an editor for “Christianity” magazine. Ghenna completed the Mentorship Program of our parent organization, Ruka Dopomogy, in 1999. He currently also serves as the youth pastor at Holy Trinity Church in Kyiv. Lena Guryeva: Lena serves as our bookkeeper. She attends Living Word Church in Kyiv where she serves on the worship team as a singer and dancer. Prior to working for us, she was a bookkeeper for a year at a construction firm. Arsyen Guzhva: Arsyen is our web page administrator. He worked in the past as our sales manager and then had moved on to manage the computer systems of a grocery store. Arsyen attends the Orthodox Church in his village of Boyarka. Our Ministry in Ukraine Where We Have Been It all started in 1998 when our parent organization, Ruka Dopomogy, created the magazine Idea Packet full of Bible Studies and ideas for youth leaders. The final issue of this magazine will be published this year with archived copies available on CD. In 2001, RD Press was officially born as Teenager Publishing. In partnership with Strang Communications, publisher of Charisma magazine, we hired our first editor and made our first expansion of the magazine. In 2002, our first publishing contract was signed, sponsored by NavPress, for the publication of the first youth ministry resource written by a Ukrainian youth leader. Sergey Suknenko, former president of Ruka Dopomogy, was hired to write his thoughts on youth ministry development in Ukraine. The book, Thoughts Out Loud, was released in June 2005. In 2003, we published our first three books. The first was Excellent Wife by Martha Peace which was our most popular book over the next four years and held on to second place last year. Our second book was a prayer journal for young people followed by Jesus-Focused Youth Ministry, by Barry St. Clair, our youth ministry training manual. Ghenna Vakulenko became the director of RD Press and began distributing our resources through Christian bookstores in and outside Ukraine. In 2004, Peter Cunliffe, founder of Christian World Publishers, helped us develop a business plan and broaden our focus beyond youth ministry resources to also include family and children resources. We officially changed our name to RD Press in 2005 to reflect these changes. Over the years we have continued to publish several books for the family and youth ministry: 2004 (3 books), 2005 (4 books), 2006 (4 books) and 2007 (6 books). Currently we have a network of 74 distribution centers in Ukraine and Russia. In addition to our twenty books, we distribute 82 books for 22 other Christian organizations. We distribute an average of 930 resources each month. Where We Are Going This year we will publish three new books and reprint four of our most popular. We plan on publishing the first family devotional book in what will be a six-book series; Parent Fire by Barry St. Clair, a resource for parents on instilling their faith in their children; and, Four View Of Youth Ministry by Mark Senter, chair of the Educational Ministries Department of Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. We also plan on opening our internet bookstore. Over the next five years we plan on publishing a total of 29 books and continue our aggressive campaign of increasing the circulation of our resources. This goal will require us to expand outside of Ukraine and develop our international sales market. In addition we will continue to offer publishing services to other organizations to supplement our income. At this level, we project that RD Press will be self-sufficient by the end of 2012. We will maintain our current staff for 2008 adding a shipping clerk in 2009. We plan on hiring a Sales Manager by 2011 and having our separate full-time bookkeeper (currently our bookkeeper works for both RD Press and Ruka Dopomogy). In 2012 we plan on hiring an office secretary and a sales assistant.
